WELSH Section A and B CHAMPION STALLIONS FROM OUR PAST in the UK.

QUELQUES ANCIENS CHAMPION PONEYS WELSH Section A et WELSH PONEYS Section B en Angleterre

BRIOLEN TENKO Welsh section A COLNE ROBIN Welsh section A

Tenko, by Coed Coch Asa, I bought him as a 2yr old colt. We had him licensed, used him on a few of our mares who produced very good foals, but he was such a sweet stallion, that we broke him to ride. Tenko won numerous Championships in hand and was in great demand. He then went to a family for driving, where he was gelded and continued his showing career winning everything in his path both ridden and in hand. Tenko came back for sale some time later and I HAD to buy him back, so back he came! We drove him when we had time, but his forte became M and M lead rein. Firstly with Hattie Mark and then by Charlotte Bunting followed by Hattie Mark who kept him through into First Ridden until she sadly outgrew him. Tenko was a star! we believe he is still in North Norfolk with a hunting/Pony Club family.

Colne Robin was a tiny charming stallion by Weston Bestman/ Colne Rainbow.

In the photo above he is ridden for me by Charlotte Bunting (after being gelded). It wasn't long before several other people had fallen for him as a first pony. So he went to a friend for her 2yr old daughter !

SYMONDSBURY NIGHTHAWK Welsh A

I bought Symondsbury Nighthawk from Fayre Oaks, I had NO intention of buying a young Welsh Sec A young stallion that day! In fact I hadn't seen him until he was in the sale ring. A kind friend said 'look at that pony, it's going for nothing' She pushed my arm up and I was bidding. He was a bargain, but when we rushed out to have a proper look, he was very excitable and stressed. I really wondered what I had bought. 'Hawk' came home with me and settled to become a really loving pony. I didn't own him very long, as a family came to visit wanting a first pony! I said 'No' he wasn't suitable, but they fell in love with
him and to my knowledge they still own him and he became a brilliant 'Gymkhana Pony' !!
CHAMPION TEILWOOD HARLEQUIN Welsh B SUPREME CHAMPION many times ! SKELLORN COUNTRY SQUIRE Welsh B

TEILWOOD HARLEQUIN Welsh B stallion Sire:Lechlade Scarlet Pimpernel Dam: Tetworth Go Go Girl.'Harley' was my first Welsh section B stallion. Photo above winning at Essex County, having also been Reserve Supreme Champion stallion at Towerlands Stallion Show the same year among his other many successes. SKELLORN COUNTRY SQUIRE by Skellorn Music Boy.What a pony, sire of 3 of my prizewinning foals, prolific winner in hand, ridden and WHP, also a real member of the family. He 'almost' got to HOYS for the Creber Ch.too when he was Reserve Supreme at Suffolk County. He was 2nd in the Glynn Greenwood Final at PUK. Winner at Essex County,Royal Norfolk Suffolk county and a multitude of other shows.Ridden he won numerous classes too.'Squire' was a stallion never to be forgotten. Sadly after he left us he never really settled, he was gelded, and changed home several times BUT the last I heard he was Showjumping at Hickstead.
CHAMPION LLANGIETHO TIC TAC Welsh B SUPREME CHAMPION PENNWAY MANTOVANI Welsh B (photo as a 3yr old colt)

Mantovani (Monty) by Tetworth Tetrarch came from Fayre Oaks as a 2yr old colt. I had gone to buy an older licensed B stallion! When I saw 'Monty', I had to buy him ! He sired a few foals and was extremely successful in hand. He won numerous first places at county shows and several Supreme championships. When he was about 4yrs, yet again I was talked in to selling him! another of my successful stallions to be gelded to be a child's ridden M and M. but the results speak for themselves! All of my stallions have gone on to be superb ridden geldings, qualifying for PUK, NPS, BSPS, RIHS, and HOYS !
I bought Tic Tac (by Llangeitho Twerp) as a foal in 1995 (photo above as 2yr old) He was one of my favourite colts. He won as a foal and in youngstock classes. We licensed him at 2yrs and he produced us 3 good foals. He was reluctantly later gelded as a ridden pony and was ready to make his mark under saddle, when, while on loan to friends for their daughter to show in 2001 he became seriously ill and grass sickness was diagnosed. He struggled on for a while and everything that could be done to save him was tried.Sadly he died, he was a great loss to us all.
